Captain Surprised By US Open Getaway Win
GEORGIAN WINS FREE 2-DAY TRIP TO OPEN FOR TWO
To his surprise, Senior Men’s 4.5 captain Jay Pease, of Columbus, GA, heard his name announced at the Captain’s Meeting on Friday night as the winner of a US Open package. The package includes two session passes to the tournament and two nights accommodation during Labor Day weekend.
Pease was not even aware of the contest or that he was eligible for the drawing.
Pease is taking his beautiful wife of thirty-five years as his guest to the US Open. This will be the couple’s third time attending the world-class event. Fortunately for the couple, their Labor Day weekend is wide-open, and they are excited about getting another opportunity to visit New York City.
To be eligible, captains must have been a registered hotel guest at the Wynfrey Hotel and have had enough of their players registered at the hotel for a minimum of nine nights. Captains received one entry into the drawing for nine nights and another entry per subsequent night booked between them and their players. Pease and six members of his team are staying at the hotel for a total of 21 nights, which gave him a total of thirteen entries into the drawing.
